Trying to determine thread size for a ball valve plug?

I have a ball valve for as a quick oil change on my lawn tractor and the pipe into the valve is a 3/8 npt and I like to purchase a male plug for the other end and I can’t determine the thread size on the opposite side.
I bough a 3/8 npt SS plug and it was much to large.

I would remove the ball valve and take it to the local hardware store (if there are any left nearby) and match things up
