Hey guys. My FS 110R has problems putting out trimmer line when I tap it. I'm using the green Stihl .95 line. Watched video on you tube on winding trimmer line and followed the directions. What could I be doing wrong? On a few occasions it looked like some of the line was sticking together inside the trimmer head. Ugh!!

Maybe the spool is worn out so when you bump it the line does not come out. There is not enough of material to bump when you hit it on the ground. Also, make sure your little spring is in the hole in the spool.

That green stuff is their cheaper grade trimmer line, probably is sticking together. Try some Oregon's Gator Magnum Line or new Platinum twist, great stuff!

If your using The Stihl line you shouldn't have issues with it sticking. Sounds more like your trimmer head is just worn out. Try the Stihl C-25-2 Auto feed head, it will cost like 30$ but you can get the replacement insert, the bump part for like 10$ when they get worn out instead of buying the whole head again. I'm using them and the Stihl line on my FS 90 and 110 and have never had any issues.

My Stihl trimmer was acting similar this Spring. I took the head apart, found a fair amount of dirt inside, cleaned it good in some soapy water, then after drying I sprayed a light coat of WD40 on everything before I put it back together. It has worked great since. Try a good cleaning first...might save you some money.

Yeah, but Stihl has been selling a cheaper grade line, which he is using, he might try switching to the better Stihl line, if that makes everyone feel better. The better line is color coded, he is using the "commercial" line, not the premium.

I would clean it thoroughly and dump the .095 line and go to the .105 line.

I have never seen line stick together if it was loaded properly I have even used the cheap harbor freight crap. Your trimmer head is probably worn down

That's one of the problems I've found with the speed feed heads, the line sometimes doesn't always load properly.

Yeah, why they started selling that cheap crap is a mystery to many of us.... Hell, the junk sells for a buck less a roll, why would
a company start selling poop? And even call it "commercial!!!!!!
