Transmission Issue?

Hey everyone. Hoping someone might have an idea of what's going on with my Lesco commercial plus belt drive. My tranny will go into reverse and every gear.

In reverse, tranny is actively engaged but when I release the brakes the belts will not engage/move the mower. The tranny still is actively working even after brakes are released.

Similarly, but different, in first the tranny is actively engaged, but when I release the brakes the tranny stops and the mower pops.

I can't tell what's going on with it... 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are fine, a little jerky, but not bad. Any ideas on what it could be? I never use first anyways so not a huge deal, it's just bugging me that it's not working as it should and I can't figure it out
 
Sounds similar to what I am now seeing. This is obviously preHydro High usage speeds/gears 1,2,3 are no longer working.4th & R is marginal 5th (transport/no mow) is OK. I think internal transmission problem but have not opened it up. Would like to find a manual for it first. Drive belt from engine to trans is good, seems like a clutch internal to the trans is slipping. No idea what the trans design is. Are internals gear sets? Anyone have idea on a transmission manual?

No idea how old the mower is - Is otherwise in great condition, heavy built, Kaw engines runs great, mows great would hate junk it. But a fast trot behind it in 4th is not optimal, and is too fast for thick grass. Tecumseh engines has been gone since 2009. I was not aware they made mower transmissions.
