How difficult is it to replace the V-Belt in the Toro Workhorse Model No. 71198? The instructions on line and in the manual says to remove the deck is this difficult and really necessary? Is the Belt better left to a shop or is it "do-able" at home? Thank you!
 
Which belt are you replacing, the drive or deck? In either case you do have to remove the deck. Are they hard to replace? I do about three dozen a year and it takes about 1-11/2 hours to complete, depending on the size of the unit. Your owners manual will tell you how to remove the deck. Just take you time and you should be able to do it. We jack up the front end or put it on ramps, to make it easier.
 
Thanks Rivets it's the Deck (Blades) belt. I looked up directions on line and they just say to lower the deck all the way however the manual say remove.
