Tiller with 5 Hp B&S

I bought a new carb for my B&S engine and I'm having trouble connecting the rods. Memory.

Long story short, I bought a new carb and installed it on the tank. I've followed my photos I took of the original of the wire linkages (3), but for the life of me can't figure out what I've done wrong.

The butterfly control in the first phot will not move when I have the linkage that runs down to the 'sprocket' connected. Everything has been cleaned and moves freely. Right now, the butterfly is in the full opened position. It should move freely right?

The only thing I can think of is the sprocket has slipped a few teeth in the black rack.

Help lol!

For reference, this is the type of carb that goes down into the tank: P.S. The rod in the second photo is reversed by mistake. I flipped it and it's still doesn't move.

The rod in the second picture doesn't connect to the sprocket. It connect to the governor arm on the side of the engine and then the spring connects to the governor arm to control the engine speed.
 
Please post the model, type and code numbers for your engine. Also post the part number for the carb you purchased. With those I may be able to find a picture for you.

It's been a while since I dismantled it and memory isn't what it use to be. Tomorrow, I plan on digging out the tiller and taking a closer look at it. What goes in the hole that I have rod in now?

Please post the model, type and code numbers for your engine. Also post the part number for the carb you purchased. With those I may be able to find a picture for you.
I had the model number and carb number written down somewhere when I ordered the new carb. I've got to find my notes (scrap of paper lol) and I'll get back to you tomorrow.

I've got to walk away from it now or I'll end up throwing it in the trash lol.

Some of those units were setup as a fixed speed engine and had a rod and a nut to adjust the speed up or down for the application.

It looks like it is Model No. 130202 and the carb is a 80200.

The throttle link is supposed to be connect to this 1789307215827.pngwhich is connected to a round rod protruding from the side of the engine using the hole on the right side of the picture. and the spring connects to the tab hanging underneath.. Some configurations used that hole for throttle control in cases where a throttle cable is not used. This picture should give some direction but the rod with the nut marked next to the A on it is not used with your engine, but it does illustrate how the throttle link from governor arm to pivot to throttle butterfly should be connected.

I put the old carb/parts back on and it acted the same way, did not move. I pried up the teeth of the pinion so I could slide the rack down to alter it's travel. It only works if the metal arm holding the spring slides under the plastic rack as it moves to the left. With much difficulty. It'll break the plastic using it that way. And as I said, there was little play for the teeth to jump the track anyway.

If I can't figure out what's wrong with it, I'm going to put the tank/carb assembly back on the tiller and try to get it started. After all, this is only the throttle control. I run it at full throttle 90% of the time, so I'll remove the vertical wire and wire the black plastic are so the butterfly is wide open.

I hate to throw in the towel, but I really need to use this tiller during the next two weeks.
