Engine has about 2000 hours on it., semi-commercial use.
A couple of years ago it started throttling down to the lowest RPM, stayed there for awhile until it apparently cooled. I had to switch it off and restart to continue. To shorten the story, dealer was no help. I discovered the fins were half blocked (my bad). I cleaned the fins, and replaced the temp sensor. All seemed well for awhile. It has started doing it again. Replaced the temp sensor, no help. Fins are clear.
As an aside, it uses a lot of oil. If I cut all day, it would use almost a quart of oil. Don't know if that is relevant. No leaks, no smoke. Don't know where the oil is going. Have always changed the oil and filter religiously.
Otherwise, it seems to run fine.
I'm considering rebuilding the engine, but don't know if that would help the throttling down issue.
