Hey new to forum but got a good one. Alright, just got through cutting a yard, parked mower for the nite(24hp 42"briggs) Drove mower next day 10 ft to gas can filled up with gas, Wouldnt restart. With or without choke pulled.but would when gas was pour down venture. Replaced fuel filter, pump, thought maybe water/bad gas change gas and put water remover in tank. Still wouldnt start. So took carb off reattached feul line and turned engine over gas pours out needle hole. Selinode on bottom over carb is opening when key is on and wire conntector is removed and replaced.

Now to fun interesting part. After all that reassembled. StaRted it up it ran but acted liked it was misfiring or not getting enough gas(Like it was at low throttle while throttle was wide open). So cover half the carb venture with hand, after a bunch of white smoke than black, some back firing she smoothed up andran normal. until I turn.blades on than back crappy running again. Do hand trick smooths out. Repeated this for a while, but really never got better. O and I can drive it around the yard all day with blades off once she smooths out from crappy running and hand trick.

So im leaning toward clogged jet, selinode on bottom of carb intermedite working, or coil going bad(ify on this one, used spark tester, jumps 1/4" gap but is not blue more orange)

Any suggestions would be great, shes my money maker right now

Thanks guys

Don't think it is the solenoid. I would start by totally rebuilding the carb. Think you will find some dirt are gum in the bowl.

So after fighting what I though was gas/carb issues did some more research and discovered head gasket could cause my problem. Low and behold think I found it. No predomante crack found, but edge of gasket was flaking and pealed off with just a touch of finger. And combustion chamber was very black.
