Not true!
I seldom drink hard liquor, but when i do, I drink it straight. There are many of us who will mix a fine cognac with coke or drink scotch with milk, or soft drinks. My question was directed to the Scotsman who prefers instant coffee to fresh brewed. I have to admit I have not tried his recipe and until I do I will reserve judgement.
As far as pre-digested coffee beans are concerned my thoughts are the same, however I would add that I'm not interested in paying 30$ a cup for coffee I can't afford to drink, and if indeed it is as good as they claim, I would have to ponder why I would want to drink something that would make every cup of coffee from that point on inferior.
I look for arabica and I will pay about 10-11 dollars for it, a little less than a pound as I recall. I drink it, I like it, why screw around with cat poop?

WELL STATED !!!! I truthfully think the people who brag about paying big bucks about drinking cat poop coffee think they impress others. Well, they do...they impress me as being stupid morons. BTW, when you p--- coffee out, who can tell the difference if you paid $30 a cup or 30 cents.....:laughing:

Tim Hortons large double double. Everyone I know swears they put crack in it to keep you coming back.

Had one today. They raised price 5 cents to$1.78. I usually brew folgers at home but when we're out swing thru tims.

And out of curiosity who here knows Tim Hortons? It originated in Ontario and is spreading like wildfire over the years. The furthest south I've seen them is Columbus Ohio. And furthest east is Syracuse.

For me, nuke a cup of water in the microwave for one minute, add a heaping spoonful of Tasters Choice instant, splash in some real half and half, stir well. If coffee takes longer to make than it does to p--- it out or costs more than 35 cents a cup you are getting your fix wrong. JMurray, MILK, SUGAR ?? You are supposed to put those on corn flakes or shredded wheat, not in coffee.

Right, here is how I make my "perfect coffee".

Ingredients:

2 Teaspoons of good quality instant coffee granules
3-4 Teaspoons of sugar
Just under a quarter of a cup of milk

Method:

Add the coffee and sugar to a mug, pour on the milk and stir a little (reason for adding the milk first is so that you don't burn the coffee granules by adding boiling water first), add the boiled water and give it a good stir, about 8-10 seconds should suffice.

Then, sit back, and enjoy!

I use that "recipe" of making coffee every morning, and it wakes me up a treat.

You are too young for coffee!!!

The Keurig machine has me spoiled -- Variety and a FRESH cup every time. works out to about $.50 a cup.

We don't go for the flavored coffees, but like the light to medium roasts better most of the time. A good Dark roast that isn't bitter sometimes.

I like a good glass of Scotch now and then but never mix it. I do however mix Bourbon and other forms of whiskey with coke. I think you'll find that the true Scotch drinker will always drink his scotch straight up never mixed, never with water or over ice.

As far as Civet digested coffee beans (Kopi Luwak) are concerned, I might be tempted to pay 30 dollars for a cup one time just to say I tried the coffee but I don't believe I'd make it a regular part of my diet.

Does anybody wonder how the coffee was discovered, were two guys walking along and one of them pointed to a pile of fresh poop, saying: "Look at those coffee beans there, let's grind them up and find out what they taste like.....":laughing:

If that is true, I presume alcohol was invented at that time...
