Seeing's as some are recessed, and some are flush (with reference to the cover) without the seal-protector & driver, I think I would opt for something a SLIGHT bit recessed, most important is surface condition of crank where the seal rides to make the seal, also being sure the seal "lip" has not "rolled over" .....

Boo, do you happen to have the number for that seal so I can look at online for one (or more)

Electricity was off here til almost 0700.
