On some other sites I've been using the @MC handle so I've decided to make it easier on you guys to tag me here as well.

Henceforth I shall be known by my initials...

Fun fact: I started LawnMowerForum in 2010...

I started TractorByNet in 1998...

Still running both.

I live in San Diego.

I own a Stihl 194-T chainsaw and a Ryobi battery mower at my parents' house. It's a $75 home depot pickup that has been abused but I figure cheaper to run that than buying gas at $6/gallon. No, it's not powerful. :ROFLMAO:

You can call yourself anything you want, as names are not important to me. Tried TractorByNet, but found this site easier to use. Hope you can keep up the good work with the new tag.

Thanks for starting and staying with this forum. Many people have learned, and been helped over the years.

Bringing up your battery powered Ryobi mower is not a badge of honor. A 25 year old Briggs flathead would sound a lot better for this forum. Especially if you live in California.

Tongue in cheek.

My parents are older and don't want to mess around with gas cans.

Regardless of how much we like or dislike the changes, battery powered equipment is gradually becoming the norm.

I've worked in the mechanical/ small engine/ farm tractor/ automotive industry for most of my career and started out with simple hand tools and a few air tools. Without a good air source and hoses air tools are mostly useless.

As battery equipment has come to be stronger and more reliable, I find myself using them more often than the air tools.

Of course, I don't miss the early days of 8V and 12V battery operated tools that flooded the market. A person could use them only a few times because they got weaker with every use due to batteries eventually not holding a charge. The batteries often costed more than the basic tool.
