Hello,

I'd make sure the coil, points and condensor are making a good connection, both via any wires and the screws/bolts that secure them (ground). Sounds like you restored the minibike and maybe paint is insulating one of the electrical components?

No engine was off for painting. I’ve had everything apart and back together many times. All connections have been cleaned repeatedly. It’s a new one for me,I’m thinking a bad new component but I really don’t know what else it could be
