Engine SWAPING JD 721D KAWASAKI ENGINE

My JD 757 seems to have eaten a valve this week. I'm told I need a new head, etc. Expensive at JD shop.
Does anyone know if I can replace my Kawasake 721D BS04 engine with a new one with different model no. It seem JD really keeps these info close!

Hi Howard
Personaly I would not do a change in model engine. You can do a total rebuild (if the mechanic is good your engine will be like new) or you could purchase a new engine as per the model. Changing to another type engine wil bug you until doomsday (ex. I need a spark plug for my jd but i changed the engine?)
