I wished that I could help you but, I've always been partial to Echo stuff.I have 4 BR 800 TWO OF WITCH ARE SIDE PULLS FOR CONNIVENCE. THE MUFFLERS WILL NOT STAY TIGHT.
VALVES ARE ADJUSTED, SPARK IS GREAT CORRECT GAP, NEW PLUGS, AIR FILTER, NEW FUEL FILTER. IDLES FINE, GOES TO FULL POWER. EVERYONE OF THEM THE MUFFLERS FELL OFF. MUFFLERS RUINED REPLACED WITH NEW AND GASKET. USED RED THREAD LOCK; STILL LOOSEN BEFORE ONE PROPERTY IS COMPLETED. THINKING OF MAKING A WIND CHIME OUT OF MUFFLERS. PURCHASED THE ECHO BRAND, NO SERVICE ISSUES, WEIGHT IS HEAVIER.
RETAPPED HOLES FOR MUFFLER ON STIHL NEW METRIC SCREWS, RED THREAD LOCK, FALLS OFF? Seems like STIHL products are not what they use to be. Have a pallet full of warnout STIHL blowers, that earned there keep. I have two dozen STIHL stick pieces. Any ideas other than never buy STIHL again?
You are the only person I have seen on the internet, or in person from customers that has has this problem. We call that an outlier issue.I have 4 BR 800 TWO OF WITCH ARE SIDE PULLS FOR CONNIVENCE. THE MUFFLERS WILL NOT STAY TIGHT.

I am sure this would not be an issue if I was only running the blower once a week for an hour or so; But the blowers are run daily while servicing a hundred to 130 accounts weekly. Tried going to dealer with problem after issues began, but can not afford to let them set in a dealer shop for a week or more during the busy season. The high vibration is the issue and I agree with other response about loctite in hot area does not work. If you look online with a search you will see others have experienced this problem, not an outlier. The amount of STIHL products I currently own and have purchased, all new from dealer, should make it clear that I am not making a false claim. I was looking for a response that reflected the issue not go to dealer, as they see me and my Stihl gear regularly. The Echo has not had the issue, it is just extra heavy for a long days use. There are other issues with the BR800 X, C, CE BLOWERS. Regularly maintenance of expendable parts. I have three STIHL chain saw, trimmers, edgers, pole saws, not new to the product line, combos and dedicated pieces. You are the only person I have seen on the internet, or in person from customers that has has this problem. Stihl makes great products from chainsaws, to blowers, to trimmers, etc.
My suggestion is take these blowers with mufflers that will not stay on to a Stihl dealer for help.

You might need to brush up on HOW to use thread locker friend. You don't just glob it on, over torque the screw with your impact gun and call it good. Then come on here whining about how your muffkin fell off.MUFFLERS RUINED REPLACED WITH NEW AND GASKET. USED RED THREAD LOCK; STILL LOOSEN BEFORE ONE PROPERTY IS COMPLETED.
