Dave is talking about splitting the crankcase, it is fairly involved.

I am talking about splitting the crankcase also. And if you believe that one I got a bridge in NYC I can sell you. I may see these times for repairs but I am going to say they are talking through there hat. I have nothing to prove as to how fast or slow a job takes me but see it all the time on this forum. Why say two hours when you know nothing about the OP. I say take your time and lay the parts out its a big job. Dave may have five or more of these saws apart at one time and his hand are just flying. Talk is easy.

The saw I worked on the gas was going into the bar oil. I remember the job because it was one of them jobs I got into a lot deeper then I wanted to. As I also recall don't the rod needle roller just fall out into a pile when taken apart.

The rod bearing does just fall apart judging from the one and only one I ever pulled that far apart of those. Lucky it was toast anyway! The oiler mes off bottom front behind the bar, three screws. But it the diaphragm is torn you are screwed as they are obsolete.

I can still get them, just nose around a bit...

The two chambers are together in the case, bar oil and gas. The gasket that separates two chambers is leaking. The saw will have to be taken apart and replace the gasket to repair it. Its a big job because the saw will have to come completely apart.

Its crazy how such a simple part (gasket) can be such a pita.

Don't know, I know that the distributors have a certain amount of say on things. I had the guy double check with the dist., he said both were still available from them.
