Starts only with starter fluid then cuts

Hello,

I have a Briggs and Stratton INTEK 23hp on my Husqevarna mower.

It won't start, but if I spray starter fluid in the carb, it starts and runs for about 3 seconds, then cuts.

Gas tank is full. I took the hose off the fuel pump, and cranked the starter...fuel spurted out, so I don't think that is it either.

What would be your next steps in troubleshooting this? All advice appreciated!
