Starter solenoid

Got a older sunstar 20 hp kohler mag . Key used to click click then started when trying to start . Last year it quit starting with key all together. So I started jumping solenoid with screwdriver and started that way . So I got around to replacing solenoid and same nothing with key . Any suggestions?

Brake switch, seat switch on some mowers, direction handle park safety switches, pto switch can all cause starting issues.
