St augustine grass

I had cut a tree in my yard and my wife and I decided to just pile it up and burn it because we did not have anywhere to haul it to. Now we have the burnt spot in the yard of course. What is the best way to help my grass grow back? And yes I knew exactly what the outcome would be from the fire. Lol!

Clean the burn spot and measure the area then buy sod and install. That's the simplest and quickest way to replace the grass.

Clean up the ash and it will grow back. I remember back in the late 50's and early 60"s a lot of people burned their grass off in the fall and it grew back better and more plush in the spring. I think there thinking was it killed off any weeds growing in their yards. St. Augustine grass is very hardy except for heavy traffic. Or you can get a pallet of sod and cover the spot but it will take a lot of water and were running out of growing season. I just put out two pallets and they are doing just fine.

You'll need to water the affected area daily for 2 weeks after you put the new sod down. After that you can cut back to 2 or 3x a week. St Augustine will come back like the prior posters said, and it is a beautiful grass when it's healthy, but it is a pain in the ash to bring back when it's been damaged - as you have seen.
We plant / resod with St Augustine here in St Augustine FL and the surrounding area until roughly November. You've git plenty time for the yard to recover before the cold sets in.
