SRM 225 vs SRM 230

what are the differences between the two besides price is the 230 sturdier than the 225?
i need some solid comparisons.

Basically there is no difference between the two units. the 225 has a 21.2cc engine and holds 14.9oz of gas and has the I30starting. the 230 has a 22.8cc engine, holds 19.1oz of gas and has standard starting, other than that they are the same unit. There weight is even the same. One is no sturdier than the other.

thanks for the link my local dealer has 10 srm 265 in stock i believe they are discontinued price is great at 289.99. it will be replacing my husky since mine is shot and parts are a little difficult to get plus i need something a little lighter thanks for the help guys. :thumbsup:

well i purchased the srm-225 since it was on sale along side a 3lb spool of echo crossfire and a couple bottles of red armor oil mixed with 2.5 gallons of 90 octane E0 at the pump.
im amazed at how much power it has with only 21 cc and how it sips fuel and the trimmer head is awesome a lot better than my cumbersome husky. and when it runs it has a nice throaty sound

i should have bought one 4 yrs ago.

With all respect, I disagree. I own one of both units. As far as the handle and throttle unit goes on the SRM 320, it is far more comfortable. The SRM 225 is far more plastic feeling.
