Sprinkler Heads

How do you avoid the hazard of sprinkler heads when tending to your lawn? I can't tell you how many of ours have been run over by those mowing our lawn. It's a real pain.

Properly installed they should be out of the way except when they pop up to run...
what is getting damaged with yours?

The top part. I think they are being run over by the lawn mowers. We have a lawn service and we've had to point it out to them a few times. They've replaced them on their own, too, but it just seems like it shouldn't happen in the first place.

Sounds to me like you need to get the heads buried deeper than they are. You should now have a problem if they are properly installed. Maybe you could build the area near them up a bit each year. It might be that run off is eroding away the ground around the spray heads. Therefore the lawnmowers clip the heads.

Patience and care are what we utilize. Our sprinkler heads are properly installed but in my experience, they can still be damaged if you run over it the wrong way. We are just super cautious and take our time when mowing or working in the area of the sprinkler heads.

I have the kind in which hoses run under the lawn and then the sprinkler heads pop up on a timer when it's time for watering. It's not as expensive as it sounds to have this kind of system installed.

I use my invention the Sprinkler Buddy. As a lawn care professional I have broken many sprinkler heads with my mower tires because I had no idea where they were in the lawns I picked up. Sprinkler heads even when installed properly often can become damaged by the heavy commercial mowers we use today. Please remain patient with your lawn care professional. We do not run them over on purpose. It is difficult to miss something you can not see even if you know where about they are.

Just search Sprinkler Buddy or RyRo, Inc. You'll learn all about it. I don't want to get banned from this site for advertising. Hope you understand. I maybe already said to much. Just run across his post and wanted to help him with his situation.

We own or have property around a big lime rock pit here in FL. My son caught those two in the same day this year. One around 10 the other around 9. Biggest caught to date 12.10oz.

Ok, I don't want to hijack this thread, but those are some seriously big bass!

Back to sprinkler heads. I need some clarification. I've seen pictures of the Sprinkler Buddy. Looks like it would work. But whenever I go golfing I see sprinkler heads all over the course that look like the attached. What's the difference?

(I'm guessing they do the same thing, but that golf-course systems are more sophisticated and more expensive than residential systems - therefore residential systems need some kind of reinforcement like you'd get from the Sprinkler Buddy)

Your product exactly addresses the OP problem... this couldn't be confused with advertisement... It is just a good solution to someones posted problem...
Like your video... YouTube - Need A Buddy? Tired of Sprinkler Repairs?
Looks to be a good marking system...
And now I understand your user name... and see it in your picture behind your Hustler.:smile:KennyV

As much as I hate people trying to get free advertising through a forum, I really have to agree with Kenny. If Hershey hadn't been here awhile, (and the thread almost a year old) I'd say you planted him/her here, the question was so perfectly matched to your product.
OBVIOUSLY, Sprinkler Buddy, you DIDN'T. It's rare that it fits so perfectly that way. I think you did nothing wrong whatsoever, and I'll bet neither does Muhammad & crew hold it against you.

Sounds like a situation that could come up a lot. A nice addition to the forum, in case someone else is searching for that problem. IMHO, you earned your free ad.......

You could've mentioned your product before, but you didn't. Kudos to you!

A question about the Sprinkler Buddy: Do people generally mind the look of a 'divot' when you suggest your product? I mean, I thought the whole point of sprinkler heads being designed like they are is so you can't see them.......

Thanks, Some do mind the look of a "divot". Others put flags, rocks, etc... to mark their sprinkler heads so others know where they are. The "divot" is only noticed when you get close to the sprinkler head. Making it easy to see the sprinkler head and not run it over with the mower tires again. Sprinkler heads were never designed to support the weight of our big mowers we use today.

The "divot" out of my own pocket replacing sprinkler heads over the years has been a bigger problem for me and I'm sure for many others. Those with deep pockets or don't like the look can continue doing what they do. Buy a few sprinkler heads year after year.

We tend to damage the same sprinkler heads over and over. I recommend those to be tagged.

If you don't mind the look, it sounds like a MUCH better way to mark them......you can't mow over a flag or a rock.........

Good idea, and I hope it does well!

Thank you! I prayed to invent something two weeks before I thought of this. I have no doubt "God" is behind me and it will do well. It already has and continues to grow. I am at AWe, wathching things slowly falling into place with this venture. It is nothing short of a miracle, that a little guy like me can take something like this so far. I can't wait until I can start helping others more with what I have been blessed with. I'm keeping the Faith and Hope!

Well, I am not religious.....I believe in God and Jesus, just not all the manmade religious hoopla around it. There's no doubt that He's involved....He will do stuff like that, but it's just hard telling WHICH people get the answered prayers, and which ones are left just holding on to dwindling hope.....till it's nothing but a memory.

- Sorry, enuff on that.

Right.....lawn mowers....landscaping....where were we? Oh, yeah....sprinkler heads.

I hear you. I'm not sure why my prayer was answered or why so many others arn't. I am no more or less deserving than anyone else. I do however have to give credit where credit is due.
"Thank You Jesus !!!"
No "manmade religious hoopla around" that!

- Sorry, enuff on that, I agree!
