Spartan zero turn ignition key pad

Hello everyone. I’m an old small engine repairman. I have something completely new to me.
I advised my older sister to buy a Hustler. She said no one had them in stock in her area.
She purchased a new Spartan zero turn which I never heard of the brand. It seems well built heavy deck and all. But it’s got a key pad to enter a code that starts the machine. At first she had to repeatedly enter the code until it worked. Now it does nothing. Is anyone familiar with these mowers?
First I’ll pull the panel and check the connections. If I don’t find anything wrong can I bypass that panel and install an ignition key switch?

Mechanics Mode
Mechanics mode allows dealerships to unlock/power up the console and operate the mower
without the owner’s key code.
Enter the mechanic’s key code using the buttons (1-4). As you enter the key code, the LCD
(14) displays it, always showing the 6 most recently entered digits. If the correct mechanic’s
key code is entered, the console unlocks/powers up and allows access to the buttons’
functionalities and the mower’s operations.
Note: The mechanic’s key code is determined by the OEM.
Note: The OEM can elect to change the unlocking method to key fob and mechanic’s key
code.
Note: If the console is unlocked/powered up with the mechanic’s key code and the engine is
stopped, the console locks/powers down after 15 minutes whether the mechanic is in the seat.
If the mechanic presses and holds buttons (2) and (3) for 3 seconds and the engine is stopped,
the console locks/powers down immediately. When the console locks/powers down, the LED (8-12) turn off and the LCD (14) displays the engine’s hours

There is also a key fob with this unit. May not need a code.
 
I started installing the new control panel and everything is pretty much plug and play.
I have one question about the chock cable. The only way I see to get it in the new panel is disconnecting from the engine and running the entire cable through.
Is there something I’m missing that’ll let me remove the knob at the panel?

Update: I apologize folks. I went back out there and I’ve rerouted cables worse than that. 5 minutes and I had it going my way.
Last obstacle is removing the fuse holders without damage. A little more cleaning and I’m bound to find the tabs.
