I need help with my riding mower Snapper SR-1642 guys
(Engine: Briggs & Stratton 30377 1145-E1)
After mowing today, I pushed the throttle lever all the way up (do not ask why
at which time the engine revved to the max and stayed there, adjusting the throttle handle would not work, so I switched key off. Upon inspecting the carburetor area, I noticed that the cable from the throttle handle was attached correctly... BUT, there is something amiss between the lower portion of the mechanism and the carburetor area.

I have the cable loose now, that is why the wheel/cable area look a bit "off".
So, the throttle cable is actually engaging and rotating the area marked as "A", but that is not transferring up to the carb via the pin with the spring. The pin is correctly attached to both the carb and the lower mechanism. I feel that the pin is riding high, if it was lower, the throttle cable would help close the carb.
Any suggestions? Thanks folks.
