anybody run the new snapper pro s150 xt? can get one for 6000 out the door.......5400 transmission is what they put on the big gravely.......wondering if it is the full 10 mph.....any field experience?.....they look well built

As a matter of fact I do. Mine is a 2012 and has a FX Kaw 20h with a 48" deck. I've had mine for about a month or so. There are 2 pictures in my folder. I am very happy with it.
I would say yes, mine does at least 10mph. I have played chicken in my driveway with cars driving up the street. The see me coming and slam on their brakes. The landscapers drive by, see me and point. Test it before you buy it and be sure its the one you want. If it is as good a unit as mine you will be very happy with it. Good luck!

I also own a 2012 snapper pro s150xt 48" with the FX series kawasaki engine. Bought mine new in 2012. Says the engine is a 20 horse, but kawasaki rates it as a 19. It is a very well built machine. Yes the mower will cut at 10 mph as claimed. I mow a little over 4 acres and as long as I mow every week I can mow at full speed with a great cut. My lawn is fairly smooth with a few rough spots. If your lawn is very rough you may not be able to stay in the seat. Hydro gear claims that the zt5400 pumps will actually reach speeds up to 18 mph, but I don't think my mower would cut great at that speed. Very impressed with the power of the Kawi engine. I was a little concerned that it may be under powered when I first bought it because the other engine option was a Briggs 25 horse, but it handles hills and tall grass very well. Not great with clover, but i cut the lower part of my lawn yesterday after 4 days of heavy rains with no problems. Grass was so wet the ground squished when I walked on it. Couldn't mow at top speed due to the height of the grass, but was still able to mow 5mph. Could never have mowed that grass with my old tractor mower. I have numerous trees in my yard and can mow the whole thing in about 2.5 hours. Before I bought the place My uncle and aunt mowed it with a husqvarna 60" zero turn residential and a 54" cub cadet tractor and it took them 3 hours.

If you are looking for a commercial grade mower for around 6000 then you won't find a better option than snapper pro. It is what I call over built. Every other brand I found with the fx series Kawi engine and the big commercial zt5400 pumps was at least 8000. Most can't even match the price with the fs series engine and zt3400 pumps. All of the other manufacturers make fine commercial mowers, each with certain strengths. I can say that If you don't mind paying more I would test a ferris for the ride. Same mower plus a spring suspension. I also like some of the options on the county clipper challenger. It has a deck that can be stood up in front of the machine in just a couple of easy steps. Country clipper also utilizes a single joy stick control. I can tell you from experience that would be very handy when mowing around trees with low hanging branches. I can get one here for around 8000. I also like the hustler one x. It has a flex fork option that is supposed to help the ride a little and help on uneven ground. The hustler is also the fastest zero turn I have seen on the market. I can also get one of those for a little over 8000. A little more than I can afford. My snapper pro is paid for and I like how simple it is built. I also like the fact that it has grease fittings on moving parts. Don't like the "maintenance free" caster wheels some other brands offer. Anytime you have metal parts moving inside another metal part then it will eventually freeze up.

Yep check it out...I have a Ferris which is the same thing with suspension and it rides and cuts great. Can't go wrong with a Vanguard avoid almost every other B&Sthe dealer is getting one with 26 hp vanguard that i am going to look at.....thanks for the replies

Briggs owns snapper pro and ferris. My dad has an s200xt with the big block vanguard. He likes it a lot. I wanted a Kawi but I have heard good things about the vanguards too. With the s150xt you should get the top end commercial engines with canister air filters. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Got the Kawasaki on my Ferris because no way I was gonna chance a commercial turf on my mower. It's new variation of the not so popular B&S Intek engine. The Vanguard made in partnership with Daihatsu since the 80's is a different story...had a Vanguard on my Simplicity for 26 years no problems. The clutch went and did that mower in.
