Snapper mower hard to pull

Hello I have a snapper model NFRP216012E push mower and have recently incounterd a probolem. The recoil starter is hard to pull but when you get it running it runs good and everything works good. But when I pull back on the Tenchiner for the self self propelled drive belt it pulls over like Normal easily not hard maybe there is a way to ajust the tensioner I would really apresheate any help

Look in your engine manual & adjust valves to specs. with engine cold. If you do not have manual post engine manufacturer as well as all numbers from engine. Example: B&S engine, model xxxxxx, type xxxx, trim xx. If valves are out of adjustment, compression release on camshaft will not operate properly.
