Shortest Fuel Filter?

Hey all.

I was draining the fuel from my generator to put it away for the season and saw some sediment in the tank. Then, it dawned on me that there's no fuel filter on it. There's only a maybe a 6" fuel line from the shutoff to the carb.

Anyway, is there such a thing as a shorty fuel filter that I could put in such a short run? The line is pretty much a 90° in that short span.

OP here. I found this Briggs 394358S and it's good and short! What I noticed was that it's only 75 micron filtration. That seems awfully large.

What's a good micron filtration range for a small engine?
 
What the make and model number from the serial number tag. Most do have a fuel screen on the tank shut off valve.
 
It could have a filter on the end of the pick up line in the tank , if so get a piece of wire hook on the pick up line and gently ease it over to the fill cap
They are pretty average in performance , either buy a new one or reverse blow that one out

Actually in this case the filter will be a screen physically attached to the shut off valve that protrudes inside the tank.

Looks like a lawn irrigation nozzle filter. Better than nothing.

I see a ton of room to put a good filter in. Where there is a will there is a way. Link is below.

Trouble with intank filters is that you can't monitor their level of contamination /blockage and cleaning them is a messy pain in the rectum.

In line gauze filters, with clear casings for easy inspection, are the best option, by far 😈
