Self Propelled TORO Lawn Mower not working

When I pull the handle for the mow to self propel it doesnt. The mow continues to cut but its touugh pushing it up the hills. Any suggestions to what could possibly be the problem.

Broken drive cable? Worn gears? They both happened to me before.

we need a little more info on the mower but i would look at the belt first see if its off or broken or streched also look at the cable good luck

Check to c if any sticks or clumps of grass r jamming it I have had the happen to my JD self proplel

Check if the self propel mechanism is driven by a belt. If so the belt must be slacken or loose or the grass gets into the groove of the pulley that drives the belt. If that is the case, clear the grass.
