Seat adjustment lever question/problem on Craftsman 25581 riding mower

Don't even ask how I got myself into this mess, but the adjustment lever on the seat is off and I have no idea where it is supposed to go or be re-attached. Does anyone have a diagram/pic of how this is supposed to be installed or instructions on how to do so?
