Seat adjustment lever question/problem on Craftsman 25581 riding mower

Don't even ask how I got myself into this mess, but the adjustment lever on the seat is off and I have no idea where it is supposed to go or be re-attached. Does anyone have a diagram/pic of how this is supposed to be installed or instructions on how to do so?

We are going to need the 917 model number located under the seat to help you.
 
It shows the seat is only adjustable with the center bolt under the seat. Part number 25
