Scag 483317 – Eliminator blade

anyone use this blade for mulching ?
I want to mulch leaves in the fall

I haven’t. Although, I have used the Oregon Gator G3 and G6 and Rotary Copperhead Mulchers.
They do reasonably well on leaves. I had to make several passes over the leaves to get the desired results.
I have found that the toothed mulching blades aren’t very good on grass with high moisture conditions.

I have been using Gator G6 blades for 5 years now and am very impressed. They last at least 3 times as long as the original blades on my TC2.

as a heavier blade how would it effect the mower deck ?
thought maybe a lighter blade would cause less stress ?

I have found no side effects to them. I just balance and sharpen once a month.
