Safety switch problem? Starting OK, but will not run when I let off of clutch

I have a 42" hydrostatic mower, model 425620X92B. Depressing clutch, starting no problem, as soon as I let off of the clutch it dies. Here is what I have tried:
1. Had the above problem, pulled the safety switch and inserted a screw to hold plunger in - taped it up, then it started, released clutch and I could move the mower, but when I tried the mower - it died again.
2. Replaced safety swich on discharge side with a new one. It starts but as soon as I let off on the clutch it dies again.

might want to leave it off for a few seconds after it dies, and measure the coil kill wire to ground to see if it is the coil kill wire killing it, or the load.

This has 3 basic safety switches: Clutch/brake, PTO and seat. There is likely a problem with a switch or the wiring that connects them.
