Safeguard Professional Care Plan

On January 1st.2026, I purchased the Safeguard Professional Care Plan (2 yr Extended Warranty) which was advertised at half
price ($249.99). Original price is $499.99. I received 2 different receipts. One reflected $249.99 with $499.99 lined through. The other receipt reflected $499.99 with the tax making it $533.74.
Once I realized I was being charged the full price, I attempted to contact Cub Cadet and ended up in an overseas call center. The person on the line used an American first name but was hard to understand.
I was told that the person would give me an answer by the close of their shift. Guess what, no email. Called again, with the same result. No email with an answer. My credit card company
was holding the sale as a fraud case. I did not initiate this, and once I told them what was going on, I was told once it was on my statement, I could initiate a claim for them to go back to Cub Cadet.
Of course this means I*m probably going to end paying the full price.

Credit Card companies are good at taking care these types problems and will usually give you a provisional credit while the case is worked out unlike debit cards where you are on the hook until proved otherwise. One of the reasons I won't have a debit card.

Or at least that has been with the five times my card number been stolen.

No....unless your card company is scamming you too, it doesn't need to be on your "statement". Initiate the dispute as fraud and they'll provisionally reverse any payment pending resolution. Save the advertisment as proof of fraud.

You can dispute a credit card charge as soon as it shows on your account. This is why it is smart to use your credit card bank's on-line account. Good luck.
