I have looked at 3 John Deere mowers, buying two, returning one not even started.

1) All three S100 mowers had tire pressure set at 24lbs on the rear tires and 20lbs front. The tire and manual both state to set tire pressures at 10 rear and 14 front.

I am told those pressures set a factory. What is up with this?

2) Manual states to set 3 - 2” blocks all specific locations under deck. Set to 2.5 cutting depth. Adjust rods to set deck barely on blocks.

I have adjusted the rods and they are almost screwed all the way out and still don’t quite touch rear blocks. I tried this on two different mowers.

What am I doing wrong?

Tyres are over inflated for transport or you have problems keeping them in place on the truck
Also helps to clear the deck when loading.
I will often go to 30 both ends to compensate for a badly worn deck to get them in & out of my trailer .
In the showroom tyres are also over inflated so they push easier , particularly if they are pushed out every morning & in again before closing .

Reset the tire pressure to what the manul states and then adjust the deck level.
