RZ46i zero turn ignition issue

I received a barely used RZ46i zero turn made in 2013 with a smart switch keyless ignition from a family member that the switch panel doesn’t illuminate. I was hoping someone had some experience with these and could tell me a few things to check. Does this switch only need a good battery connected to illuminate or does it need some of the other safety switches in the correct state? It has a new battery but still no power at the ignition switch. Thank you for any help someone can provide.

see if this manual helps, see page 52 & check 20 amp fuse for replacement.
Check all wiring at back of switch, tight connections everywhere. Also make sure switch is tightly mounted & ground wires are all tight by hand. Check all wire connections for rust & corrosion, wire brush will come in handy. Use silicone dielectric grease on all electrical connections after cleaning them up.

Thank you for the reply. Fuse checked out good, it oddly started up the next time I tried. It seems odd that it sporadically seems to have power at the ignition switch.

A wire that has broken at the crimp will do exactly what you describe
