Hi, I've recently purchased a used 33" RER snapper with the 14hp Kohler engine, with the square type frame. The clutch has been replaced by a Snapper specialists and seemed to run well for a couple of hours, but then it stopped working :frown:

The engine runs and revs perfectly, but when I've selected a gear and engaged the blade, (or even just trying to drive forwards) once I lift the clutch/brake pedal the revs drop and the engine cuts out. If I press the clutch/brake before the engine stalls, the revs will pick up again, but I can't drive forwards or backwards.:ashamed:

At a guess I'd say the differential might have seized (big guess) but would have thought that would have stopped me pushing it the miles and miles back to my trailer? I've checked all of the safety switches, tried switching off, returning everything to neutral and back on again etc... but to no avail.

I'm hoping one of your experts may have a quick, easy and cheap solution or even better, be able to embarrass me by telling me what I'm doing wrong...

Thanks in anticipation,

You need to stand the mower up and take a look at things, also find the model number on the frame and give it to us.

Once you stand the mower up, close the vent on the tank, look down at the bottom at the drive assy. and try to work and rotate the drive disc. Tell us what you find,
or better, put up some pics.
