I have a Craftsman 10hp 30" rear engine rider, purchased in '99,
approx. 1-1/2 months ago, was mowing, took a break, restarted
engine and it went uncontrolled wide open, I thought it was about to start
"chunkin parts"!! I had to use the manual choke to control engine speed, to
get put away.
I have cleaned all the governor linkages and checked float settings in carb, and
cleaned it. However when I was checking the operation of the governer linkages
(with engine running) I noticed that the arm that connects to the carb didn't move
as the engine rpm changed.
I have an owners manual, and it appears that there is some governor assys. inside
the engine. Does this happen very much? and is there annything that can be done
out side of the engine? I really don't want to pull the engine and split the case!
Any help would be appreciated.
