Hello Folks,

Quick question regarding blade replacement for my 46-inch Craftsman riding mower......I'm poking around e-bay and found a set of blades from a company named: AYP. I am wondering how decent these blades are compared to the sears OEM blades. Anyone ever try the AYP aftermarkets? Do they hold up as good as OEM? In my situation they are half the cost.

Any information is appreciated!

AYP is the factory where your mower was made.
So insted of an aftermarket blade supplier listing 145 different brand names they just specify the company and the hole type.
Neither AYP nor Craftsman actually make blades.

interesting Thanks for the info.

Another question? Do Gatorblades provide a better mulching cut? Or are the basically the same as the traditional blades?

Gators will only work properly on a limited number and types of decks.
There is 4 different series of Gators and then there are the copies Preditors , Silver Streaks etc.
Go to the Oregon web site and check they list your mower, engine & deck.
I put some on a YHT with a 42" deck and they worked a treat but the same mower when he upgraded to a 48" deck was a disaster and left an uncut strip from new.
