I have an older (~2003) Craftsman riding mower with a 15.5 or 16.5hp? Briggs. Wiring is all fubar and need to setup new wiring direct to the engine. Throwing in a deadman seat switch is ok but would rather do without it and need to eliminate all other existing wiring and related safety mechanisms such as clutch needing to be depressed to start. The blades are off and I'm not using this machine for mowing.
The existing 3 position factory switch is unwanted.

What do I need to wire this thing? Here's my thoughts:
Momentary start button (spst?) What volt/amperage should I use?
dual position toggle switch (run/off). What volt/amperage should I use?
Wire from neg of battery to neg of engine
Wire from pos of batter to existing relay switch
Wire from output of relay to starter.

How do I need to wire the rest of the relay, run/stop switch and starter button? I do at least realize the wire doesn't need to carry a heavy load since it operates the relay.

And how does the battery get recharged? I know this mower has a recharge system but not sure where or how it works and what the wiring should be.

Eric
