Now that I have installed a new pump at my well, I am trying to restore the old Goulds Jet Pump, 1 HP. It appeared to be "frozen" so I took it apart and it had must rust inside it. is there a way to remove the rust from both the armature (stator??) and rotor surfaces? Sand paper? What grit? It is an old Goulds pump shallow well, jet pump. Cast iron impeller.
