Replace K46 trans with manual trans in JD L120

I have a JD L120 with the dreaded K46 trans. I have been replacing the fluid for the past 4 years....which has been getting me by.
I came across a deal on a L120 without the motor that has a manual trans....
My question is, would it be easier to put the motor in the mower with the manual trans or just swap the K46 trans with manual trans ??
I would rather just swap transmissions....seems like it should be pretty straight forward.
Just wondering if anyone on this list has done the swap before I jump in.
Any thought would be appreciated.

I would look at the drive belt routing and compare they may be different for a transmission swap.
