repair question

I have a riding Snapper, not the lawn tractor, and I hit a water meter cover while mowing. I thought the blade was bent, but it is the part that the blade attaches to. If I take the center nut off, will this part come off so that I can replace or straighten?
 
Post some model numbers, will help us answer your question. Some of us have to see things before we can figure them out.
 
Take the cover off the top of the deck then take the nut off the pulley take pulley off and the shaft should fall out.
If you need to help it put a block of wood on top and hit the wood. Take it to a small home town mower shop and ask for a used one should only be $10

thanks guys. What should I call that part when I call the mower shop????? Being a female, they are all thingies to me. I do have another snapper that is inoperative right now. So I can take the whole blade off that one. that may be a better choice in case the whole shaft is bent.
 
Are both your mowers the same?
I think it would be easy just to switch out the decks. Less work than fixing a spindle ( that's what the shaft sits in)

yes. Both rear engine riders.
I have lots of power tools, so I should be able to do it. The spindle will come out if I take the cover off and take off the pulley???? Correct???
 
Yes the shaft will come out
And if was me doing I would replace the bearings while I was there.

THANKS. I will do that as well. You have been a great help. And I am in Georgia as well. Not Hawaii. Wish it were so but i clicked on GA when I was registering, don't know what happened. Looks like I have my work planned for Saturday already.
 
That is the blade bar and it wont come off easy at all. Its threaded onto shaft clockwise and you have to hit it with a hammer to knock it off.
