I bought this mower new. Was out of town and my son mowed with out putting oil in the gas. Has a marred cyclinder, I am pretty sure it is not cost effective to rebuild with new parts or even possible to get cyclinder machined and use a slightly oversized piston. I just want to know if anyone has machined or if you could hone the cyclinder smooth and just put a new piston and rings?

You can use a chemical to clean the wall of the cylinder of aluminum.
Swimming pool suppliers have mueratic (SP) acid. it will disolve aluminum but not affect steel
we used to use hydrochloric acid (from the hardware store) to remove aluminum from the cylinder walls of our two stroke bikes after a seizure

Thanks I have heard of using acid to remove aluminum. I might take this on as a project and give mower to family member.
