Putting a little Oil in cylinder before initial start of new small engine.

You should really start a new post instead of "hi jacking" another. I will reply to your query anyway.

Running 2 cycle mix is not really a big issue except for excess carbon buildup. I suggest you adjust the mix 100:1 to minimize the potential for excess carbon buildup.

There really nothing in the carburetor that requires any lubrication.
 
Funny thing is on the fogging oil, comes with a straw. You know every one of us will use that straw that makes a focused spray pattern. Works better if you ditch the straw using straight from the trigger button. Spray in a circular pattern inside the plug hole. Gives a wider fogging action.

Someone mentioned to fog it then turn the engine over a few times. Seems to me that would wipe any oil off the bore??? Might be a little left if yours has cross hatch marks.

Everyone is dropping cylinder lube ideas. No harm I can see. 2 smoke mix is great for this.

I just thought of something. Somebody makes an engine out there I think it is B&S that you never have to change the oil, no tipping no dripping just Mow so that is an option for them. Also Hello D, I do not think 50-1 is recommended in today's engines I understand the concept you are having but they say it's best to keep the oil in the crankcase

Hello billroy1,

That is the newest disposable engine made for B&S. You simply use it until it blows up. It's the latest innovation for the "throw it away and get another" economy.
