I have a two gallon Sears pump srayer. It's surges and stops flow under pressure. I've cleaned it and looked at the diaphram and found no obstruction. Could the hand pressure pump have someting to do with this problem?

If there is pressure in the tank but the flow stops then there is either dirt in the line or the control tip is closed.

Don't discount the obvious - kinked hose. Most inexpensive sprayers rely on the hose to maintain it's shape. Good idea if the hose doesn't get twisted and bent during normal use. I use Tractor Supply brand 1.5 gal sprayers. Yes, they are inexpensive and basically throw aways if anything fails. I add a spring over the hose where it exits the sprayer and enters the wand. This keeps the hose from kinking. Takes 3 mins and cost about $2.00 for the springs. And they are reuseable for the replacement sprayer. Now that's thinking Green!

I'm just saying...............:mur:

Best sprayer I've had was from TSC. $8.00 and has lasted 5 years.
