PTO disengage

My cub is having an issue with the PTO stopping and i do not know enough about this mower to fix it. When you are mowing all at once the PTO will stop working.
 
Hey daydreamer, I had a similar problem with my Hustler last year and it was the safety switch that cuts off the engine while the PTO is engaged when you get off the seat (should be right under your seat). I disconnected it and tied the wires together and replaced the switch later.....well, not really but I should :). Anyway, if your PTO is running and then suddenly stops, this may be your culprit.
 
exact same problem here with a wright sentar . i would mow for about 15 minutes and just the blade would shut down . VERY aggravating. i replaced the PTO switch and the relay and still no go. turns out that the plug that connects the wiring harness to the clutch was laying against the back of the engine block and the little clip that holds the connectors together had melted just enough that any vibration or bouncing around was disconnecting the PTO at the plug. i ty-wrapped the plugs together and re-routed my wiring and have had no problems since.
