PTO Clutch question

So, I bought a LT1042, 2007. The guy said the pto switch was out. I replaced it and it was not the issue. After doing some research, I found out that the mower should have a Kohler engine. Well there's a Briggs 21hp instead. So the engine was replaced at some point. So I went to pull the actual PTO clutch off of it and it was rigged. Someone had welded a small extra piece of metal to it in order to brace the clutch when engaged. It actually looks pretty solid. My problem is I don't know if the PTO clutch that I took off is the PTO clutch from the Kohler motor or if it's a different one that fits a briggs motor. There is no part number on the PTO clutch itself. I'm assuming that it is one specifically for a Briggs motor since I'm pretty sure they're not interchangeable?

Click on link above for your Service Manual.
Post model xxxxxx, type xxxx, trim xx, code xxxxxxx from B&S Engine. Take measurements with Caliper - Outside Diameter of crankshaft & Inside Diameter of old clutch. Remove key in keyway from old clutch. This information will help in locating new PTO Clutch for the best price. Thanks, Mark
Let us know how it goes. Post your Cub Cadet model number from under seat.

FWIW the clutches are mower specific, not engine specific .
A mower offered with a Briggs, Kohler, Honda or Kawasaki engine alternatives will use the same PTO clutch .
So either the original PTO died & the DPO has fitted a cheaper alternative or they lost the clutch anchor so made a quick bodge .

No
Yours is the standard 1" keyed shaft
What you need to be aware off is the diameter of the pulley which changed the blade speed
And the strength of the clutch as higher blade loadings need a stronger clutch
