Problem seating tire on rim

Try wrapping the strap around it at least twice and make sure to cover more of the tread, rather than laying it on top of itself. Also, seat the bead on one side first.

Look on YouTube for tire installation videos where it's done with a rope.

I even tried 2 straps.

I have a large property to maintain and use lawn mowers, ATV's, golf cart, tractors as well as street motorcycles. Several years ago I bought a manual tire changer (you can search for them online) and bolted it to my shop's floor. I have done everything from motorcycle tires to my lawn tractors, ATV's, and only the front tires on my Kubota. I have used the starting fluid technique on several tires without incidents. Usually the ratchet strap does the trick, but if not, I use the "poof" method outside of the shop.

I tried the ether trick but the new ether does not burn like the original ether so the tire won't pop on.

New things never work as well as old things, and in my experience that includes people.

I agree with Star tech. I do it the same way. Winter is a different story.

Do this if you have an inner tube handy. Dismount the tire, Install the tube, and inflate pushing the beads apart. Now sit it out in the sun for a few hours and bring it in so it can cool over night. Remove the tube the next morning and remount the tire. This should get the beads to mount on the rim. Another option is to use an air cannon but most of use don't have one. Bead sealer also helps.

I figured if you are going to put a tube in the tire to expand it you should leave the tube in there.

Guys, all mower tires need to go to a real tire shop. Sorry but some of them are a huge pain in the rump. Shops only charge a couple bucks for those small tires anyway. I don't even mess with them anymore. Got better things to do like slugging down some adult beverages on a hot summer day.

Couldn't agree with you more. That's my 'go-to', the good old tire shop.

I was wondering what small tire changer should I buy to use with riding mower tires instead of doing it with tire irons. I already have a coats 3030a for larger tires. Also should I get a bench type or one that mounts to the garage floor.

I like the StarTech tube method to stretch it out. Never tried that, but I will! Thanks
