poulan pro 1842std clutch problem

Mower will not move unless I pull the clutch pedal back and hold it. When I release the clutch the mower stops moving. Model number is PR1842std Model 011101095912.

You have a build up of debris under the mower preventing the brake / clutch pedal returning fully.
It will be a lot easier if you drop the deck, drain the fuel tank , remove the battery & stand the mower vertical on its bum.

Otherwise you will be eating a lot of dirt & grass clippings.

If you don't want to lift it up then remove the mowing deck & get the mower as high up as you can because it is difficult to get in and clean it out with the mower sitting close to the ground.
