I saw this on Amazon and bought it, after seeing many here recommending pressure testing carbs. It came with no instructions. I searched online but haven't found it yet. I can see how to use it to test for leaking float valve. Easy enough, hook up to fuel inlet on carb, apply pressure(turn on ignition if solenoid equipped) and see if it holds 7 lbs for 30 minutes, if I'm recalling correctly.

There are 2 items included that I have no clue about. They are stamped sheet metal, one in the shape of a W, the other is a Z. There's lots of letters and numbers. Is this something I need to know about? I bought it to do leak detection. See pic.

They for setting the metering lever height in Walbro and Zama two cycle carburetors. Now can you tell which is use for the Walbro 2 cycle carburetors?

Also you need to invert the float carburetor to test them. 5-10 psi is what they should hold for 30 minutes.
 
You invert for testing dry? If bowl is full, should close valve without inverting, right? Is the W for walbro?
 
Bingo W is for Walbro and Z is for Zama.

Trying to test one that might have a full bowl is hard as you can't be sure it full or nearly full. Always test inverted on float type carburetor and of course no fuel present as it would run out anyway.
 
Geeez! These are not car carbs. 7 pounds is way overkill. 1 to 1.5 psi max is all you need, preferably the former.
 
Rev, 7 psi is the standard used by experienced techs for the last 50 years. 1-1.5 psi will result in carb leaking, especially on rough terrain
 
What we have to allow for is fuel system pressurizing as they are only vented to prevent vacuum not pressure. Try sitting fuel can out in the sun and see how pressure is develop on the sealed can.
