I agree but all the sand is left on the road in the spring and the street cleaner will have to clear it.....

The sand will be gone by spring. The rain and the wind will wash it off the road.

My thinking is the gravel is just as bad as the ice.

On some roads up here in NH the winter sand is leftover on the road and the street cleaner trucks come and pick it up in the spring.
