Opinions on on the Tiger cat (possible purchase)

Im thinking about getting a tiger cat. I'm not sure if it is worth upgrading to the tiger cat II... Does anyone wish they had upgraded?
I have a bit over 2 acres and have been using a simplicity regent for my mulching and stripping needs.
A kubota bx 2670 does the... not so important areas.

I like to mulch.

I cut regularly as needed and keep it short and trim. (i.e.., couple of inches off at a time.... no big 2 + feet here lol).

I can't seem to find much about how the scag mulches. I see a couple of videos on leaves.. but nothing too much about grass.

SO.....

How does it mulch? Do you take a hit in speed? Does it leave any clumps etc behind or is the much kit good?

I would like to purchase the stripping kit also... but the dealer wants $800 (thats Canadian dollars).

When I bought my Tiger Cat II the dealer had both side by side.

I like the extras on the II better, it has cooling fans on the pumps, a foot brake, gas gauges on both tanks, and the Tiger Eye with a restriction monitor for the air cleaner, and a battery charging indicator to name a few.

To me it was worth the extra cost.

As far as mulching the deck does a great job the way it is, give it a try before you invest in a mulching kit, I think you'll find it's not needed for what you are trying to do..

I guess it is to each his own. I own three Tiger Cats with 52" decks and Kawasaki engines. The oldest will be 2 in July. It is around 1000 hours. The second will be 2 in April 2017. It is approaching 800 hours the newest has less than 100 hours on it.

They have been operated under brutal conditions from day one. Last week we were bumping 100 degrees. Many times we cut Pensacola Bahia Grass all day long.

Often we put fresh blades on n the morning and reblade mid day.

Rarely do we run both tanks of gas put on a day on one of them. 7 gallons will run a long time.

I always run one tank out completely before switching. Therefore the extra $$$ for a gauge that is probably not going to be real accurate is not a requirement for me. We pull the air filters regularly and check them so that is not an issue.

Operating a zero turn the only reason I could think of for needing a foot break would be if a drive belt broke on an incline. Other than that it would be in the way since the hand break works great for parking. It will work fine in case the pump belt breaks as well.

For me the more "stuff" added is not going to make it any better.

Each operation is different. For me and the operation I run the Tiger Cat Scag is hands down the best mower sold locally my area. In fact nothing I have personally operated or watched operate will touch it as far as quality of cut and ruggednesse.
