Briggs as ended all production in Wisconsin and have move it to Alabama. Dixie Chopper has acquired the old factory in Coateville IN and will be moving production there. and Stens will be closing their Jasper IN warehouse and distribution and moving it to their new warehouse in Tennessee in July.

B & S I can understand because the asset strippers want to sell the real estate to recoup what B & S owes before shutting down all production , But the other two are a bit strange in a time when business it tough thems ain't going to be cheap moves .

Evidently the Stens warehouse in Jasper IN is leased and the lease ends in December. So everything will transition to the new 540,000 sq/ft warehouse in Portland TN.

Dixie Chopper is claiming that they have outgrown their current building located 10 miles from the old factory so it will be a short move.

Briggs shut down the tractor and snowthrower operations in WI and claimed the WI plant was loosing money so engine production is moving to Alabama and air cooled generator production to Bluff MO.

Watch what happens to the old site which I was led to believe that B & S owned .
In the height of the greedy 80's we had a spate of morons who bought out quite profitable businesses because the land value was higher than the company value.
Then they either sold the land on a lease back deal or sold the land and moved the business to rented space
By the end of the 90's just about every one of the slimmed down to the core business campanies had failed primarily because of the amount if debt incurred paying rent during a downturn .
But it was a US business philosophy as part of the MBA courses, so it must be the right thing to do. unless you were one of the 500,000 who lost good stable jobs during the period so you could end up making coffee for the morons who destroyed your life .

Briggs making moves from Wisconsin to Alabama, huh? Change is the only constant, right? Best of luck to them in their new digs. And big shoutout to Dixie Chopper for snagging that Coateville IN spot – hope the transition goes smoothly! Sad news for Jasper IN with Stens closing shop, but hey, Tennessee's gaining a new warehouse! Change can bring opportunities too. On a personal note, anyone got recommendations for ThreeMovers? Looking into Long Distance and Local Moving Services – the whole shebang! Share your stories or tips if you've got 'em.

You can add Kohler with the list with Platinum equities now being the majority shareholder in the company. Kohler Energy has been split off from the main company which is plumbing fixtures. This is the same company that owns Oregon tool at this time.
